Today, I'm sharing my latest favorite layout -- a Christmas layout made with Miss Kate Cuttables' Christmas Morning set and Penguin on Ice. I love how cute Miss Kate Cuttables turn out. They are such a great way to make your own embellishments with paper.
The papers are from the Festivus stack from Recollections (Michael's). I love the blue, green, and red colors for Christmas. It's a fun and festive combination.
I used glitter on the embellishments after I layered them together to
add a bit more sparkle. The papers have glittered elements too, so this
helps to tie everything together.
Love how this layout turned out. I'll be using these papers again soon to create more Christmas layouts.

Inspired by Pinterest Feature for Kiwi Lane
I couldn't be more excited to share my first monthly feature project for Kiwi Lane! It's a fun Halloween project, inspired by Pinterest. You'll have to head on over to the Kiwi Lane blog today for loads of scrapbooking inspiration and to see this super cute (if I do say so myself) Halloween layout using the Pebbles' Thirty One collection from American Crafts, plus the Kiwi Lane template sets Mini Aspen Court, Halloween, and Mini Holiday.
This project was so fun to create. I love that I used up a chunk of my button stash and working with the Mini Aspen Court border templates was an awesome new way to create a great layered background. I just love Halloween - and these papers and embellishments from American Crafts were perfect for this project. Be sure to check out American Crafts on Facebook too!
Best of all, if you don't yet have the very awesome Halloween or Mini Holiday accessory template sets, here's your chance to win a set of your very own (shipped to the US only). Just enter below - I'll be picking a winner on Halloween. Good luck to you!

More Scraptastic Club August 2013 Layouts
Today I'm back with two more layouts using the August 2013 kits from Scraptastic Club -- the I Found A Boy kit main kit and the add-on kit and stamp set. I loved working with these kits...
I'm really happy with how this first layout turned out. I was inspired by a video Jen Gallacher posted in her Scrapbook Stamper's Workshop class at Two Peas in a Bucket. Jen demonstrated how to create a custom background paper using stamps -- and I knew I had to try it out with the I Found a Boy stamp set. The sketchy designs look great stamped in these bright colors.
The rest of the layout came together very quickly after that. I simply matted the photos, layered everything with a few strips in between the photos and the custom-stamped background paper and clustered embellishments from the kit around the page.
The end result is a fun, bright page showing off my boys' hard work in the yard.
Next up, I created a softer, more girly layout using the same kits. Even though the kits are definitely boy-themed, it is possible to create a totally different look. (Note - I had to remove these images for publication. They'll be back soon...)
Yes, that's me, age 1, bald head and all. I love that little sailor ducky dress. Very 70s.
On this layout, I used my Kiwi Lane designer templates to create the background layers. I also added a double-row of machine-stitching around the edge. It adds to the texture and gives it a homemade feel to match the photos.
Yes, all of these paper were from the same kit as the other layouts. But here, I used mostly the "B" sides, which had a more subtle pattern and softer colors. I love that the kits was so versatile.
I still have enough papers and embellishments left over from this kit to create at least one or two more layouts. So, you might be seeing more of this kit soon. For now though, I'm itching to start playing with the September and October kits...
What scrapbooking projects have you been creating lately? I would love to see...

Kiwi Lane DT Doodles Sketch - Week 41
Hello all! I'm definitely in the Halloween mood lately (aren't we all?), and today I have a fun Halloween layout to share. I created this layout for Kiwi Lane's DT Doodles blog feature for week 41. This week features a sketch based on this layout:
I love those Large Bracket and Scallop templates, so I was excited to be able to use them again. Here's my version:
I love how it turned out! The papers and embellishments are from the American Crafts Night Fall collection. I also had a large 12x12 paper pad from Michael's Recollections brand called "Night and Fall" which had the same patterned paper. Maybe American Crafts makes some of those too? Either way, I love this line. It's a spooky and fun Halloween collection with lots of hand-drawn elements and a great color palette. And of course, I had to use American Crafts Thickers in Dolce - love that bold font.
For the Kiwi Lane templates, I used:
This was so fun to create. If you have the Kiwi Lane Brackets and Scallops, I challenge you to create a layout combining the two. You will love the results! Please share your layout here - I would love to see it. If you don't have them, what are you waiting for? Run over to the Kiwi Lane shop and pick them up today.

Halloween Decor
There's another new Halloween lantern from my mom up there, along with a few new framed photos and my twig tree (which I love!).
I also laid my Halloween rag garland on the top. I love how it turned out. I hung my Halloween wreath and put up our Halloween tree.
I think that's plenty for this year. I'll plan to pick up some new decor items when everything is on sale. Fun plans!
Have you put up your Halloween decorations? I would love to see...please share!

Kiwi Lane DT Doodles Sketch - Week 40
I'm back today to share a layout I created for Kiwi Lane's DT Doodles blog feature for week 40. This week, they're featuring a great double-page layout.
To get started, I picked out my photos and then framed out my page using the templates from the sample layout.
I love to overload on patterned paper, so of course I had to add in a few more border templates than the original layout showed. I used these Kiwi Lane templates:
The papers are from the Winter Wonderland collection from My Mind's Eye. For the embellishments, I used the Decorating the Tree (Boy) set from Miss Kate Cuttables with my Silhouette Cameo and various brads and pieces from my Christmas stash. I also used my Stickles glitter to add some sparkle to the die cuts.
So that's my interpretation of this week's sketch. Have you created a layout based on a sketch? Link it up here -- I would love to see it!
Be sure to check out Kiwi Lane's blog or like them on Facebook. They have so many scrapbooking tips and tricks to share.

Halloween Porch
My favorite time of year is here -- Halloween! I love to decorate our porch with all of our Halloween goodies. This year is no different...
I love this new huge Halloween lantern -- a birthday gift from my wonderful mom. She always gets me the best birthday presents -- Halloween decor.
I mostly moved around my fall porch decor and added in pumpkins and gourds and Halloween spookiness. Love how it looks...
We will have a zombie hunter and a commando in our house this year for trick-or-treating. Plus pumpkins to carve very soon. Stay tuned for more Halloween fun...
