Christmas Home Tour: 2013

I'm so happy to once again have our home decorated for Christmas. As my boys get older, it seems like Christmas might be edging out Halloween as my favorite holiday. Putting up the decorations and the Christmas tree really has so much more meaning for our boys now than it did when they were younger. They get so excited and talk about "remember this?" kinds of things. I love that.

So, today I'm sharing our holiday home decor. I've been doing this for a few years now -- so you can check out last year's tour and the year before as well.

First up, our mantel. We really get a lot of use out of our fireplace, so I have to keep the decorations down to a minimum here. It gets hot! But lately, I like it simple, so that's okay with me.

And on top of our entertainment center and on the sofa table...

And our Christmas tree...

I so love putting up the tree with our boys. They get so excited seeing the ornaments they remember from year-to-year. Love that.

On into the living room and dining room, where I have my Christmas houses set up. My boys and hubby usually get me a new Christmas house each year, and I love them -- they are the most awesome, cheesy Christmas decorations. I want to move into one.

I love this vintage set of Christmas dishes. I only have these two pieces -- my mother-in-law gave them to me. They are from when my hubby was a little boy.

And finally, the foyer. I have a small Christmas tree set up and my ornament wreath. The only thing missing is the garland on the staircase. I still might put that up, but I ran into technical difficulties when I discovered the light cord had completely died. I'll need to remake it, so we'll see if that happens this year or not.
