Ornament Wreath

Last year, I made an ornament wreath that I loved. But my mom loved it so much that I decided to give it to her. So, this year, I made myself a new ornament wreath.

I so completely love it...

The wreath itself is pretty easy to make - you just need lots of patience. To start, you need:

• A wreath form - I used an 18" straw wreath which seemed small (just like last year) but actually makes a very large wreath.
• Ornaments in various sizes - I only used 2 sizes this year but I wish I had used a size in between the large and small versions. Last year, I used 3 sizes and I like how the spacing turned out on that one better.
• Tinsel to wrap around the wreath - use any color that will coordinate with your finished wreath.
• Glue gun and a lot of glue sticks
• Ribbon to hang the wreath (not shown)

Start out by wrapping your wreath form with the tinsel. Secure it on the back with piece of tape or wire pushed into the form.

Keep wrapping and wrapping until it's completely covered.

Attach your ribbon to wherever you want the top to be. Secure with a piece of wire stuck into the base to hold the ribbon in place - and tie a knot at the very top. Then, start gluing your outer layer of ornaments around the outside and inside to form the base layer.

This layer takes the longest and requires the most patience. You have to glue then hold the ornament in place for 30 to 60 seconds before moving on, or it will just fall off again. After this layer is done, start building around the wreath, adding more ornaments in the spaces.

Finally, add in the smaller ornaments to fill in any open spaces you have left. The end result...

So lovely...
