More Scraptastic Club August 2013 Layouts

Today I'm back with two more layouts using the August 2013 kits from Scraptastic Club -- the I Found A Boy kit main kit and the add-on kit and stamp set. I loved working with these kits...

I'm really happy with how this first layout turned out. I was inspired by a video Jen Gallacher posted in her Scrapbook Stamper's Workshop class at Two Peas in a Bucket. Jen demonstrated how to create a custom background paper using stamps -- and I knew I had to try it out with the I Found a Boy stamp set. The sketchy designs look great stamped in these bright colors.

The rest of the layout came together very quickly after that. I simply matted the photos, layered everything with a few strips in between the photos and the custom-stamped background paper and clustered embellishments from the kit around the page.

The end result is a fun, bright page showing off my boys' hard work in the yard.

Next up, I created a softer, more girly layout using the same kits. Even though the kits are definitely boy-themed, it is possible to create a totally different look. (Note - I had to remove these images for publication. They'll be back soon...)

Yes, that's me, age 1, bald head and all. I love that little sailor ducky dress. Very 70s.

On this layout, I used my Kiwi Lane designer templates to create the background layers. I also added a double-row of machine-stitching around the edge. It adds to the texture and gives it a homemade feel to match the photos.

Yes, all of these paper were from the same kit as the other layouts. But here, I used mostly the "B" sides, which had a more subtle pattern and softer colors. I love that the kits was so versatile.

I still have enough papers and embellishments left over from this kit to create at least one or two more layouts. So, you might be seeing more of this kit soon. For now though, I'm itching to start playing with the September and October kits...

What scrapbooking projects have you been creating lately? I would love to see...

Scraptastic Club August 2013 Kit Layouts

Today I'm sharing two layouts I created with Scraptastic Club's August 2013 monthly kit. I recently joined Scraptastic Club, and I have loved their kits. They are full of color and fun embellishments, and this kit was no exception. For August, I got the I Found A Boy kit main kit and the I Found A Boy add-on kit, plus the custom stamp set. I also got their exclusive Project Life kit, so there are bits of that added in here as well.

I started out my first layout by framing my page with my Abbie Road and Strips border templates from Kiwi Lane. This let me decide which patterned papers to layer on the layout before cutting into anything.

I inked all the edges of the papers to help them stand out, then layered the papers together. I added the embellishments in a few clusters around the page. I also used the little sketch stamps on the background paper.

Super bright and fun.

For the next layout, I used the same kits and the stamp set to create a totally different layout. I again used the Abbie Road and Strips border templates as well.

I don't use white backgrounds very often, but I do love how it turned out here. It lets the bright blues and yellows pop off the page. The stamped images also look bright and crisp.

Two great layouts that I love to add to our family albums. I will have a few more layouts created with these kits to share very soon. You can also check out the Project Life layouts I already created with this kit.

If you like kit clubs, you will definitely love working with Scraptastic Club's monthly kits.

Scraptastic This Life Noted PL Kit

I recently joined Scraptastic's Project Life monthly kit club. I love it so much! I had been getting Studio Calico's Project Life monthly kits -- and while they are great, they often feature muted colors and very eclectic designs that weren't always to my taste. I like brighter colors and things that "go" together. I'm a dork like that.

So Scraptastic's monthly kits really fit the bill for me. The August 2013 PL kit -- This Life Noted -- is full of bright, fun colors and elements that I really loved. It was perfect for creating this PL layout. I added in a few bits from my stash here and there, including the wood veneer frames from Lawn Fawn.

I'm in love with all of Scraptastic's monthly kits so far. Can't wait to make more projects soon.

Thanks for looking!
