Hello everyone -- I'm so honored to be a guest designer on the Kiwi Lane Designs blog today! As you know, I love creating layouts with my Kiwi Lane Designs templates, so I loved being able to do it again for their blog.
Here's a sneak peek of my project:
You'll have to head over to the Kiwi Lane Designs blog to see the rest of it -- let me know what you think! And thank you, Kiwi Lane, for having me on your blog this month!

June Project for Kiwi Lane
Hello everyone! I'm thrilled to be up on the Kiwi Lane Designs blog
today with a new project for June, although I'm also sad that this is my last project as a design team member for Kiwi Lane. It has been an amazing term with Kiwi Lane, one of my most favorite scrapbooking companies ever! I know the new design team will be bringing us new inspiration as well, so I'm looking forward to that.
For June, the Kiwi Lane design team has been working with Hazel & Ruby -- a fun new scrapbooking company with lots of unique products. I had a blast creating with their tissue paper, sequins, and Stencil Masks. Here's a sneak peek:
Be sure to learn more about Hazel & Ruby at their blog or their Facebook page.
This month's featured Kiwi Lane templates are Mini Madison Avenue and Accents -- both of which are on sale this month and both of which I used to create this fun project. You'll have to head over Kiwi Lane to see the whole project.
But before you go, you'll have to enter to win your very own set of Kiwi Lane Accents templates. To enter, just do one of these:
Good luck and stay crafty!
Lissa :)
Updated 6/28/14: Congratulations to Heather Thompson -- you're the winner of the Kiwi Lane templates! Email me at MightyCrafty.me@gmail.com to claim your prize.

Halloween Layout for Kiwi Lane Designs
I'm thrilled to be up on the Kiwi Lane blog today with a Halloween layout today (yes, in summer!). It's a send-off layout, where we were asked to create a layout with our favorite designer templates since this is our last month as part of the Kiwi Lane design team. I'm so sad about that! But also excited to see what the new team will do to inspire us.
Here's a sneak peek of my layout:
I used the fabulous Blackbird kit from Scraptastic Kit Club for this project. I absolutely love all the Halloween elements and paper in this kit.
You'll have to head over to Kiwi Lane to see the whole layout -- let me know what you think!
Until next time,
Stay crafty!

Scrap Space Organizing: Kiwi Lane Designer Templates
It's so hard for me to believe, but my term as a design team member for Kiwi Lane is coming to end soon. I'm so sad about it! I have loved designing for them, but I know they will soon have a new team in place with lots of creative ideas to share.
As part of the work I've been doing for them, I've been using my Kiwi Lane designer templates more than ever. I needed a good storage solution for them in my scrap room so that I could see what I have and easily choose sets to work with on my projects. And since the templates all come packaged with a lovely binder ring and eyelet-set hole, this is how I've been storing them:
I'm using a ribbon storage unit from Simply Renee. I don't know that this particular model is available any longer, but it looks like there are similar versions you can choose from. The little clips are perfect for holding those binder clip rings.
I keep all of my border templates together, then all of the accessory templates, then all of my card and 8-inch templates. I also try to keep "like sets" together -- for instance, I have all of my bracket templates on one ring, regardless of size, along with the regular and tiny versions of the accessory templates. This lets me play with multiple sizes of the templates at once, making for more interesting and quicker pages. Love that!
Kiwi Lane has recently released a very awesome DT Tray that I just love. I haven't gotten my hands on it yet, but it looks super fun for having your templates right on your scrapping table next to you.
How do you organize your Kiwi Lane designer templates? I would love to hear your ideas.
Until next time,
Stay crafty!

May Project for Kiwi Lane Designs
Hello everyone! I'm honored to be up on the Kiwi Lane Designs blog today with a new project for May -- a tutorial on how to make 20 cards with a 6x6 paper pad and your Kiwi Lane templates! I'm pretty proud of all these new, amazing cards I made...
This month we are working with Fancy Pants Designs! I was so happy to work with the As You Wish collection for my project. Just beautiful... I used these products from the As You Wish collection for my cards:
The featured Kiwi Lane designer templates for May are the Floral and Tiny Bracket templates. You can do so much with these two sets, including make about a million cards. LOL. You'll have to head on over to the Kiwi Lane blog to see the full project...
But before you go, you must enter to win your very own set of Kiwi Lane Tiny Bracket templates. To enter, just do one of these:
Good luck and stay crafty!

So soft and sweet -- I just love it. I used up a stash of My Mind's Eye papers that I've been hanging onto forever. They were just so beautiful and I haven't been able to cut into them. Luckily, the Kiwi Lane templates make that job easy since you get layer all those beautiful papers together.
I used these Kiwi Lane templates to create my page:
- Tiny Bracket 4T
- Floral 2, 3
- Tiny Floral 1T, 2T
- Clara Lane 2A, 3A, 3B
- Strips 1", 1/2"
Then, I connected the brackets with a straight line, using a border template.
Then, I framed out my page with my templates, laying the background mat in place (I ended up rotating it in the final design, so that more of the brackets could be seen):
Once I knew where everything was going to go, it was super easy to finally cut into those lovely papers. I just removed each template, traced and cut each piece, then inked them with Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. I'm so happy to be finally using these amazing papers -- and clearing out my stash...
I made the ribbon flower with some ribbon from my stash and a Gluber. Love those Glubers for making custom embellishments!
Lovely paper layers...
So that's my project for this month's Kiwi Lane Blog Hop. Are you ready to head over to the next blog for more amazing Kiwi Lane inspiration? Before you go, be sure to enter to win my giveaway for your very own Kiwi Lane Tiny Bracket templates. To enter, just do one of these:

Kiwi Lane DT Doodles #8
Good morning all! I'm back today with a layout for Kiwi Lane's DT Doodles sketch #8. It's a great two-page layout with lots of possibilities:
And here's what I created:
I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the Mt. Rushmore, using this SVG file. I like that it's kind of modern, mixed with the fun papers on the layout. I used papers and embellishments from the Simple Stories Urban Traveler collection and the Basic Grey Wander collection to create the paper layers and accents. So fun!
I love how this sketch layout turned out -- thank you Kiwi Lane! Be sure to head over to Kiwi Lane today and link up your layout creation so you'll be entered to win that awesome gift card!
Until next time -- stay crafty!

Kiwi Lane DT Doodles #6
It's time for another awesome sketch from Kiwi Lane -- my favorite days of the month! And when you link up your creation based on the sketch, you'll be entered to win a Kiwi Lane gift card.
This sketch is awesome, just like always -- and there's lots of room for lots of photos on this double-page layout:
And here's what I created with the sketch:
I have been dying to use the School Spirit collection from Crate Paper (it's been in my stash forever!), so I pulled it out to showcase lots of photos from my boys' year in 2nd grade. I like to have a single layout in our family album for each school year since each of my boys' has their own school album. So the single layout in our family album just shows off a few random moments from that year. In addition to the papers and embellishments from Crate Paper, I used these Kiwi Lane templates:
